How to Properly Care for a Candle
Each candle comes with a warning sticker, as well as a candle care card. There are so many factors is how a candle smells that effect the burn time and the quality. Here's how to properly care for our candles.
Trim Wick
Many people don't know what a mushroomed wick is. It is what causes soot in any type of wax. Make sure to trim your wick to 1/4 inch to help control flame and soot.
Keep Away from Children and Pets
Children do not know any better and neither do pets. We don't need any harm coming to them.
Keep Away from Vents
If there is a problem with the scent, make sure it is not near a vent. Those vents tend to suck up the scent and bring them up instead of spreading them in a room. Fans can usually spread the scent further, but be aware, having too much wind will make the flame dance.
Burn Time
Don't keep the candle lit for more than four hours. I know we all have things that run through our mind and it's easy to forget that something small is there.
Be Careful of Surroundings
PLEASE, DO NOT LIGHT CANDLE NEAR ITEMS. With all the factors, it can be hard to predict fire. Make sure to keep flammable items away from the candle at all times. Check that the table is sturdy and flat.
Do NOT Leave Candle Unattended
On the subject of having things through our mind, we can't forget that there's a burning candle at home by itself with no one around. Make sure you remember to blow it out properly. Don't fall asleep to those relaxing smells without anyone else there.
